The Light Worker's Guide to Holding Sacred Space

Today, I want to talk about light worker healing, my Reiki practice, and healing. Practicing Reiki in Salt Lake City is a thrill. Here’s a little information about holding sacred space as a light worker.

After working with dozens of clients, I’ve learned that the most powerful healing happens not when I do something TO someone, but when I create space for them to heal themselves.
— Amy Conn

The elevator definition might be:

“A lightworker is a person who serves other people and the planet. People from all walks of life could be lightworkers, from nurses to life coaches. Lightworkers are rumored to transform others and change their way of thinking. If you're sensitive and eager to help others, you might even be a lightworker.”

When clients come for a Reiki treatment, I often have the kleenex box ready. Sometimes, it’s just walking into a space that has been cleared of all negative energy with only a scent of Palo Santo and orange, Reiki Healing music being played on Spotify, a cool breeze from my Woozoo fan, twinkle Christmas lights and the visual of luscious green plants that, when combined into one space, triggers the emotional release response. By the time my clients get to the table, we have an intention set, a chakra crystal to hold onto and a dream state to enter into.

One of the reasons why I believe this stuff works is that 2x per month, my own Reiki instructor, Eileen Naughton, works on me in my own room. The last time she worked on me it was Lion’s Gate (8/8/25) and I dreamt of Obama in his twenties attending college!

I couldn’t help but to think more into this.

“Was this a dream symbolically representing new beginnings approaching?”

My family saw Obama speak 2006 in Washington DC during an American Cancer Society celebration of life before he became President of the United States.

The kids were 6 & 8 and even they were captivated by his talk.

Obama was struggling to give up his cigarette addiction and had lost his mom 10 years prior to uterine cancer which had spread to her ovaries. He spoke of her independence, bravery, and determination.

He was a Senator of Chicago and when he left the stage, the emcee stated, “Ladies and gentlemen, you may have just heard from the next President of the United States“

New beginnings….

Wow!

A Lightwork is someone we’ve all met in one form or another. It’s the schoolteacher that helped us through a difficult time in the seventh grade; it’s the firefighter who assisted your family member when you needed help the most; it’s the camp director that brought the type of summer magic that causes you to return to camp each and every year.

Creating sacred containers involves establishing a designated space, whether physical or energetic, or for personal or group transformation. These containers foster openness, safety, and intentionality, allowing individuals to explore emotions, process experiences, and cultivate growth with boundaries and support.

When life becomes a little too difficult to manage, please find a reprieve for yourself. A massage therapist, an acupuncturist, or a Reiki instructor. Let YOUR Lightworker find and hold a sacred space for you to safely release and renew yourself.
