The Magic of Sedona

Salt Lake City reiki healing

Or perhaps I should be asking, Why is Sedona magical?”

Sure, it could be the iconic red rocks formed by geological processes over millions of years. (but 80% of Utah represents similar - but different - processes …)

And, yea, it could be the presence of evergreen trees that provide such beautiful contrasting color and texture to the red rocks. (but again, I’ve seen this in other parts of the west. I mean, I love it … but, what makes it so magical in Sedona?)

I do LOVE the variety of landscapes and the secret waterfalls, wildflowers and cliff dwellings … ( but WHY Sedona? )

“Ohhh, it’s the Woo-Woo factor!”

“Ok, ok, ok, ok … WAIT. What? Woo-Woo What?”

Well, Sedona is famous for its vortex sites. Vortexes are believed to be swirling centers of energy that promote healing, meditation and self-discovery.

“You tellin’ me that a Vortex in a rock helps people discover themselves? That’s cray-cray!”

Also, the Native American tribes have long considered Sedona a sacred place and that these “rocks” (vortex sites) are places of spiritual power and connection.

Reiki sessions in Salt Lake City

Is this the effect of the sunlight facing into the camera lens?

This I do know …

There is a sense of serenity here. There is a natural beauty which contributes to the feeling of tranquility and relaxation. (something we are ALL needing right now) This area has a vibrant art scene and a very strong sense of community.

But the reason why I am here is this:

Sedona is a safe place for a spiritual community to meet up. I am here to complete my Reiki training. In 2024, I attended this retreat and the Reiki training. This year my schedule could only accommodate the training.

Our trainers: Kevin Lewis, Jeffrey Peck, Uqualla

and Debbie Hedberg.

… and I am so happy to be here.

Trying to stay balanced on the swirling, twirling vortex in Sedona.

Sending good vortex energy your way.
