What Does Fall Mean To YOU?

Yoga for wellness

It’s always been MY favorite season! I love the temperature change. I love the colors. I love the transition.

Temporal landmarks divide life into distinct mental phases. They allow us to put in the past negative experiences and propel a fresh outlook.
— YASMINE SAAD, PHD

I also love how we can harvest what we’ve planted 5 months earlier. (This is probably one of my most favorite things about Fall) But there are a few other items: I love baseball and the World Series. I love Halloween. I love the time change. I love putting our garden to bed. I like evening walks with our dogs without getting too overheated. I love how our neighborhood decorates for the various holidays, brightening up each home, each street in their own unique way.

I interviewed some 3rd graders the other day, here is what they said about Fall:

“I love jumping in the leaves - I don’t like raking the leaves.”

“I love Trick or Treating and watching Young Frankenstein!”

“I love the decorations.”

“I love the colors.”

“I love Thanksgiving Break!”

Recently, I was subbing for these 3rd graders for 4 days while their teacher was away at a conference. We integrated the migration of various bird species throughout several topics. In the end, they were properly prepped for the movie FLY AWAY HOME.

“An Amazing Adventure Was Born…”

It was magnificent! Upon the return of their teacher, they held a party with a showing of this movie. It thoroughly captured the essence of Fall. A beautiful transition…
